Happy New Year, Lets get Organized !!

Its a great time of year to get your Genealogy office organized and up to date. Dear Myrtle's blogger site offers a ton of new ideas and work lists for the next several weeks to help you organize and make a great workspace for your research. Also tips and comments from readers will get your energy up too.  Follow Ol' Merts in depth lists and don't forget to watch some of her videos and programs on YouTube as well. A great site for inspiration and very well done for everyone to understand.

No more Framily Tree Maker!!

Ancestry has announced that their popular Genealogy Software "Family Tree Maker" will be discontinued as of December 2016. Family history buffs had very negative responses to the announcement. Many popular blogs, newsletters and genealogy websites have posted the beginnings of how to transfer FTM files to other programs,. there are several alternatives to FTM but none actually "Sync" to the Ancestry website itself.  Here is a link to Family Tree Magazine with listings of different programs and their rating according to the magazine editor. Most off free trials and demos for you to try and make a change to a different program
