New Family History Site - Family History Guide




Once again Dick Eastman links us to a new learning site for all researchers, beginners to advanced and even the kids get a lesson on how to start their family history quest. 
The Family History Guide is a new educational site directed at the beginner with lessons on computer basics, family research basics, webinars, explanation of types of records and is a very complete

Is it Copyrighted???




This week Thomas MacEntee posted a great site that more or less fully explains what and what not can be copyrighted. Some of them will surprise you. Copyright laws are very complex and this article is excellent in explaining copyright laws.

Our first program of the year featured a lecture by Sandy Bisset on Non-Population Census Schedules. 
Sandy gave a slide show and showed the members the value of these importance of these  records. The information gleaned from them are used to establish tax bases, fund government programs and give a overall demographic overview of areas of the country related to agriculture, industry,  manufacturing, social statistics and mortality.
