History and Genealogical Records locked in Texas - August 2015








Following a morning where employees of the DRT Library arrived to work to find the locks changed and access to the DRT Library and the collection they own blocked, the Daughters of the Republic of Texas (DRT) today obtained a temporary restraining order (TRO) against the Texas General Land Office and George P. Fred Henchell will be presenting a program on researching military records. Sub-topics will include


a brief historical overview, understanding military structure and organization, unit histories,


 on line resources, and military burials and cemeteries.  


 


 The program is Sept . 12, 2015 at 1:00PM in the


downstairs meeting room at the Columbia Gorge Discovery Center
