The
Genealogical Forum of Oregon is
holding its 2015 Fall Seminar on Saturday, October 24, 2015. The presenters for this seminar are nationally known
speakers Pamela Boyer Sayre and Richard G. (Rick) Sayre. Both are
Certified Genealogical Lecturers whose specialties will help beginning and
experienced researchers.
The topics for the seminar are:
Social Security Sleuthing
Finding Records of Military Service in Published U.S.
Documents, 1776-1945
Using NARA’s Finding Aids and Website
Soldiers’
Homes
In addition, both speakers a two hour workshop on Sunday,
October 25th from 9:30 am to noon. The topic will be Maps!
Wonderful Maps! The events require separate registrations which can be
found at www.gfo.org.
We would appreciate it if you could post the attached
flyer and include mention of our events in any mailings to your members. We
would also like to invite your group to participate in one of two
ways.
First, we will have space available for any member of
your group who registers for the seminar to share flyers and information. If
you don’t have a member attending, you could send flyers and we would be happy
to display them.
If you prefer to reserve a larger space to sell publications or other
items, we will provide a table located on the perimeter of the
meeting space in view and hearing of the speaker. The fee for
this is $60 and includes registration for two
people.
