Another year has past and a new and exciting year for CGGS has started.
The first meeting will be held on Saturday, January 11th. As always the board will meet at 10:30 in the lower meeting room of the Columbia Gorge Discovery Center. Regular meeting and program will begin at 1:00 in the lower meeting room as well. Everyone is welcome to join us for a no host lunch noon in the Basalt Café.
The first program of the year will be "Word Games- Words, Phrases, and Context".
Sandy Bisset will acquaint us on some words found in genealogy research that have some researchers baffled and uncommon names and descriptions that have different meaning because of the location in which they were used. Members are urged to bring their unknown or misunderstood words or phrases they have found in their research to be discussed. These may be occupations, geographical or location names, ect.
A new meeting schedule is now posted on the blog to the right for 2014.
Also a reminder that your 2014 membership dues is due and payable at the next meeting.
